We work with vulnerable adults with experience and/or interest in mental health and well-being. The role includes supporting, befriending, and mentoring group members, helping with the general set up and running of our weekly creative drop-in alongside the project co-ordinator, and helping to co-facilitate and lead art and music-based activities. There is also the chance to get involved in and co-design Synergy’s more focussed art projects, such as our upcoming Wind Farm project, funded by the local Rampion Wind Farm in Brighton, and looking at the links between climate change, environmental sustainability and Mental Health. Other areas to volunteer and get involved in include: – Co-ordination and facilitation of activities and events (mainly art and music-related) – Social media and publicity – Fundraising and finance – Networking and outreach (promoting the project and meeting other organisations) – General and helping (on-site project assistance) – Befriending buddying and mentoring – Food and nutrition (food prep, research and learning around nutrition and mental health

We are looking for volunteers interested in expanding their experience in community arts engagement and social enterprise development, particularly in areas of arts facilitation, art and music therapy, peer support and community support work. We are also looking for volunteers to support our upcoming art project, funded by the local Rampion Wind Farm which explores two significant themes of climate change and the need for good mental health. Other desired skills or areas of interest include: – Social media and publicity – Fundraising and finance (for social enterprises, art and creative projects) – Community networking, outreach and engagement – Food and nutrition (and it’s links with Mental Health)

Ideal for individuals living in and around the Brighton area. Experience or interest in one or more of the following areas desirable: – social enterprise, charity or community work – Mental health, well-being and nutrition – Finance and fundraising – Arts and events management/co-ordination – Music and/or art therapy Volunteer travel expense covered. Refreshments provided on placement.
